One Nation (NSW Division) Media Release - 18/12/2007
Labor's New Defence Minister is Already a Security Risk
Labor's new Defence Minister, Joel Fitzgibbon, has already been revealed
to be a major security risk.
According to The Australian of December 17th
he has stated publicly we are on the road to losing the war in
Afghanistan, and our tactics are wrong. But these comments are based on
consideration of classified information in a closed meeting that he had
with the other allies.
A military assessment based on classified information and a closed
meeting should remain just that, closed and classified, otherwise you are
broadcasting to the enemy strategic information that is to the benefit of
their cause and the detriment of ours.
Propaganda posters stuck on walls in World War Two declared "careless
talk costs lives" and "loose lips sink ships". Does not going public in
this manner after meetings held behind closed doors amount to careless
talk?
As for Kevin Rudd, who has never seen even one shot fired in anger, giving
advice to the NATO commanders about how they should run the war, he's only
been in the job two weeks, so what would he know?
It looks like we are stuck with Kevin Rudd for three years, but Defence
Minister Joel Fitzgibbon should become the first casualty of this
Government by being removed from his position.
