Neighbourhood Walks

Apparently harmless...

This is on the way down to the park on the water. Flowers litter the pavements in summer.

Behind this hedge is one of the original sandstone buildings of the area.

This is part of the main road which used to have trams rolling up and down, a long long time ago, but with parking on each side nowadays that would be impossible.

The modern day 'tram' on the old reconditioned industrial rail track.

Bringing with it another childhood memory, does this lane. Just at the left of this picture....

is a view into the old tramshed (ever the bridesmaid so far in terms of heritage-inspired re-development),

bring further memories of exploring as kids - albeit a different neighbourhood! What a space - but. Hmmm.

The old tramshed sits at the back of the trotting circuit, which has had one extensive redevelopment and is expecting another - this the backstage, the 'stables', and part of the track.

One the other side of the trots, is a canal.

And on the other side of the lane, which leads from the road to the canal,is access to the park which - these days - stretches all the way to the bay.

The Autumn sun is quite striking, assuming these roofs as austere as the pyramids in the desert...

The bright sun, with a tiny tintsy bite to the wind, makes it a joy to walk around, with even the back lanes providing a bit of eye-joy!

Wattle flowering in Winter; with its branches full of promise of more, the first branch of the little balls of fluffy yellow appear

And then there's the parks....
