It seems that William Wyatt Smythe may
have had a family. Or the following line
descends from a brother.

descendant Smythe male, William
Wyatt Smythe married Robina Augusta Conran in
1877 at Plympton St Mary, Devon
(September quarter). William Wyatt
(Conran) Smythe was a Captain in the
Royal Navy. Three sons appear to have
been
killed during the First World War. The
eldest son, Ralph Conran Smythe
was born in 1878. His brother Andrew
Graham Conran Smythe was born in
about 1883 and was married to Ivy L. ? by
1917. Another brother (presumed) was William
Henry Smythe. He was younger
than the above two brothers, born in
about 1886.
