1. William Wyatt Smythe (d. 1839) It seems that William Wyatt Smythe may have had a family. Or the following line descends from a brother.
A descendant Smythe male, William Wyatt Smythe married Robina Augusta Conran in 1877 at Plympton St Mary, Devon (September quarter). William Wyatt (Conran) Smythe was a Captain in the Royal Navy. Three sons appear to have been killed during the First World War. The eldest son, Ralph Conran Smythe was born in 1878. His brother Andrew Graham Conran Smythe was born in about 1883 and was married to Ivy L. ? by 1917. Another brother (presumed) was William Henry Smythe. He was younger than the above two brothers, born in about 1886.
