Papers P1 - P14 Are Studies for the Post-1974 Church of God
Ref. Code Title Summary

P1 Laodicea's Lamp! By 1974 Herbert W Armstrong (HWA) had 3 doctrines wrong related to marriage and shows he was lukewarm on the very foundation of God's Plan for mankind. This also marks him having led from 1934-1974 God's seventh church era of Laodicea rather than Philadelphia as had been mistakenly assumed. The events that overtook the former Worldwide Church of God (WCG) from 1974 and especially during the 1990s are prophecy for Laodicea fulfilled before our eyes but noticed by few.

P2 God the Father is the Creator and Husband of Israel! HWA of the former WCG unwittingly adopted mainstream Christendom's 2nd-century AD error that Jesus was the Creator and God of the OT. This paper shows that God the Father was The Creator and "The God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob" and The God of Exodus and The Husband of the nation of Israel and who was His own Word to the OT fathers and prophets. P3 The Garden of Eden No-Divorce & No-Remarriage Law A consummated biblically lawful marriage is an unbreakable covenant for life that no man may put asunder. No divorced person may remarry as long as their lawful spouse lives (1 Corinthians 7:39). See also the short papers A1, A6 and A16.

P4 On Sivan 7 Pentecost was Fully Come! The Bible does not give an explicit date for Pentecost (the Jewish Shavuot) and on which day Israel assembled before Mt Sinai to enter into their marriage covenant with God the Father (see paper P2). It is shown that the date of Pentecost is Sivan 7. HWA of the former WCG came closest with his original Shavuot Sivan 6 date but his subsequent pre-1974 Monday Pentecost and post-1974 Sunday Pentecost contradict the information given in Exodus 19:9-16 for the two days leading up to the Day of the Assembly at Mt Sinai. P5 The Bible Shows Jesus Was A Self-Existent God The biblical Godhead is neither Unitarian nor Trinitarian (see paper Q11). It is shown that both the NT God the Father and His Son Jesus were originally two independent self-existent Gods and that Jesus surrendered his former self-existent deity to become and die as mankind's atoning Passover Lamb. See also paper A4.

P6 Noah's 365 Days In The Ark The Flood dates given in Genesis chapters 7 & 8 are shown to agree with today's Jewish calendar and that therefore Christians should not re-invent the biblical calendar but leave this to the Jews to whom was given stewardship of the calendar, the 7th-day Sabbath cycle and the OT Hebrew scriptures.

P7 Passover And The Feast of Unleavened Bread It is shown that all of Passover is on Abib 14 and none on Abib 15 and that the Feast of Unleavened Bread is from Abib 15 to Abib 21. The various errors that have arisen since 1986 due to certain difficult scriptures are examined in detail.

P8 The Seventh Day Remains The Christian Sabbath! The 7th-day Sabbath is shown to be from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. It is also shown the Resurrection was late Saturday afternoon and that the biblical week begins at sunset Saturday. The discussion is extended to the concept of the 1000-year Millennial Day and the 7-Day Millennial Week.

P9 The Importance of Accuracy in the Study of Holy Scripture This extract from the writings of Dr Ethelbert W Bullinger (1837-1913) shows the need for accuracy when reading the Bible and illustrating this with a number of examples, including: Abram's age when called to Canaan, the 70 or 75 souls migrating with Jacob to Egypt, the 400- and 430-year periods to Exodus.

P10 How God the Father Was Seen and Heard! It is often argued that God the Father could not have been the God of Exodus who spoke to Moses from the Burning Bush because Jesus said that no one has heard or seen His Father (John 5:37). This paper shows what Jesus meant and shows that Jesus confirmed that His Father had spoken to Moses from the Burning Bush. That therefore paper P2 correctly shows that God the Father was the Creator and God of the OT.

P11 The Biblical Sunset-to-Sunset Day This paper rejects Mr Myron Martin's claim that days run from sunrise-to-sunrise. It also has a detailed look at biblical figures of speech. It is also shown that the biblical sunset-to-sunset day represents daily God's plan for man's salvation.

P12 Fresh Evidence Denies Mr Herbert W. Armstrong’s Accusers! This paper cross-examines HWA's accusers and shows them wanting. It introduces the concept that those who ridicule and malign him could not have been converted because only HWA and no other man brought us so much truth from God during the 20th-century and without which it is impossible to understand the Bible.

P13 A Critique of The article, "Who Was the God of the Old Testament?" This is a detailed critique of Mr Roderick C Meredith’s article, Who Was the God of the Old Testament? published by the Living Church of God in the January-February 2009 issue of their Tomorrow’s World magazine. The idea that Jesus was the Creator and God of the OT was an early 2nd-century AD departure from Apostolic Godhead teaching. That this can not be correct is best seen from the absurd inference that would follow had Jesus married Israel at Mt Sinai because then God the Father would have remained a single or unmarried Father, who begot His Son Jesus through His Son's Wife Israel.

Unfortunately so many read into the Bible what they want to see there rather than take from there God's message.

(The Journal November 2009, page 8) God the Father alone remains a self-existent God and who therefore named Himself to Moses by the Tetragrammaton "JHVH" and which means "The Eternal" or "I AM that I AM" but often misread as "Yahweh". Some mistakenly teach there are two or more Yahwehs and through this display not having understood what this name means and that it can apply only to God the Father because Jesus surrendered his former eternal self-existence deity to become incarnate and die as our atoning Passover Lamb (see also A4, A13, P2 and P5).

(The Journal November 2009, page 8)	God the Father alone remains a self-existent God and who therefore named Himself to Moses by the Tetragrammaton "JHVH" and which means "The Eternal" or "I AM that I AM" but often misread as "Yahweh". Some mistakenly teach there are two or more Yahwehs and through this display not having understood what this name means and that it can apply only to God the Father because Jesus surrendered his former eternal self-existence deity to become incarnate and die as our atoning Passover Lamb (see also A4, A13, P2 and P5).
